The 2NC congratulates Olympiacos & Panathinaikos for their return to Istanbul!

Six months ago, almost to the day, Olympiacos & Panathinaikos were boarding the plane to Istanbul for the inaugural 2 Nations Cup Basketball! After a strong preseason and a successful regular season, both teams return to the city for the Euroleague Final Four...

Istanbul, the first setting for the Two Nations Cup Basketball tournament and the host city of the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, was the ultimate destination of the 2011/12 season. Praised as a “preseason Final Four”, the Two Nations Cup Basketball 2011 and its participants Anadolu Efes & Fenerbahce Ulker from Turkey, as well as Olympiacos & Panathinaikos from Greece were up for the challenge. And the exciting match-ups at the Abdi Ipekci Sports Hall were only a small sample of what was about to come... 

   Τhe four teams met again in the Top 16 after a stellar Euroleague regular season, and the Two Nations Cup Basketball “re-make” was complete. Unfortunately, their ways would part down the road, and after two dramatic playoff series, the Greek teams advanced to the final stage of the competition.
