The Greek 8+ National Team was the winner of the Two Nations Cup Rowing 2011, after an exciting race against the Turkish squad on Istanbul's Golden Horn, which was held on Sunday, October 23rd.
The Greek 8+ National Team visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul, where it had the chance to receive the blessings and wishes of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The Greek and Turkish National Teams' preparations for Sunday's Two Nations Cup Rowing 2011 race, coincided with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Patriarchy.
After landing in Istanbul, the Greek 8+ National team completed their first practice alongside the Turkish team at the finish line of the race at Balat Park, during their preparation for Sunday's race on the Golden Horn.
At the same location and moments before swinging the oars, the Two Nations Cup Rowing 2011 Media Event was completed successfully. The two 8+ National teams, their coaches and representatives of the federation were present, alongside the mayor of Fatih Municipality, Mustafa Demir, who was introduced to the teams of both countries.

Both Turkish and Greek Rowing Federations disclosed the athletes who will compete in the Two Nations Cup Rowing 2011 race, to be held at Istanbul's Golden Horn, on Sunday, October 23rd.
The Greek 8+ Coaxed National Team, composed of athletes who won 25 golden medals in World and European Championships in the last four years and have qualified for the London Olympics 2012, and the Turkish 8+ Coaxed National Team, composed of young and successful athletes, will meet at the Golden Horn for the first race in a historical location.
The Two Nations Cup Rowing 2011 Media Event and Photo Shooting will be held onFriday, Οctober 21st 2011, at 14:00, at Istanbul's Βalat Park, where the members of the media will have the chance to meet the Greek and Turkish rowers, the team coaches, as well as the representatives of the federations and the Organizing Committee.
